The company was established to develop, to build and to manage a fleet of Chemical/Oil- Tankers – including all commercial activities linked to the shipping industry – newly designed jointly by Rigel and the MTW Shipyard, Wismar, the Gdynia Shipyard, Poland and the Jinling Ship- yard, P.R. China. Each vessel is a German limited partnership (Kommandit Gesellschaft). RIGEL SCHIFFAHRTS GMBH & CO. KG controls the individual limited partnerships and manages the fleet. It is the target of RIGEL SCHIFFAHRTS GMBH & CO. KG to offer and to maintain a fleet of highly sophisticated, completely double hulled and ice- strengthened Chemical/Oil-Tankers to meet the highest present and future technological, safety, environmental and commercial standards of their potential partners.
